South Carolina Lease Agreement

A South Carolina lease refers to a legal document signed by a lessor and a lessee when a property is leased in the state of South Carolina, US. The lease lays down all the terms and conditions both parties are supposed to follow which helps to prevent conflicts later. It must contain the name and address of both the parties and details about the property leased. The rent and deposit amount and notice period must be clearly mentioned.

Every state in the US has its own set of lease rules which must be obeyed by the tenants and landlords. For example, tenants must pay the rent and utility bills within the first five days of the month. Landlords are responsible for making major repairs in the house, failing to do which the tenant can break the lease citing unhealthy living conditions. If the tenant breaks the terms of the lease, he can be evicted after being given a 20 day notice.
