A design and construction contract is one that is entered into between an owner and a contractor wherein the construction contractor takes full responsibility for both designing and construction of the entire project. The owner only gives specifications of requirements and the project is designed and constructed according to the specifications by the building contractor. The owner of the property does not interfere in the construction process in any manner. The owner has to make a lump sum payment to the builder for completing the construction process.
Some of the details that should be included in this agreement are date of execution of the project, total cost involved in the project, specifications of the project, technical details of the project, total time required to complete the project, design details of the project, approvals for construction status report, measurements of the owner’s property, construction tools to be used on the site etc.
